Portraits of Hecla Island originated as a Mother-Daughter project between Maxine and Stefanie Ingalls. Maxine is the daughter of Stefan and Bernice Helgason and was raised on Hecla. Stefanie is the daughter of John and Maxine and is married to Kerry Laing.
